Our latest guests were due any day, heavy rain the week before had clouded the "River Albaida" and the fishing was tough.
I went to the lake at Bellus to try and find some alternative swims, I was shocked to see the water so low, it was the lowest I had seen it in 7 years. It looked desolate, and as I spent a day looking around, I wasn't very optimistic.
The second day I found a likely spot, so tackled up a 1½ pound test curve rod with a small feeder, and size 6 hook. The fish (albeit small) were feeding all through my 3 hour session, and gave me my best day in Spain so far, 14 small carp; I would guess 35 - 40 pounds in total.
